Happy Friday everyone! Another gorgeous summer wedding on the blog and I am so excited to share some of my favorites from Shine and Oguz's big day! Shine and Oguz got married earlier this month at the Noor Mosque and then had their Gold Ceremony and Reception at the Westin Hotel in downtown Columbus. It was absolutely breathtaking and the day could not have been more perfect for the newlyweds! I loved celebrating with their family and friends (some who even flew in from Australia!) and capturing all of their traditions. Shine and Oguz will actually be having another wedding celebration overseas with family and friends who couldn't make it, so the party continues all month long! :)
I spent most of the morning with the ladies while they got all dolled up with hair and makeup and surrounded the bride with excitement. In Muslim tradition, women who choose to wear hijab must always be covered in front of men (and in public), so out of respect for the bride I won't be sharing any getting ready shots of all the girls since they were not covered. <3
The Gold Ceremony was a tradition I had never photographed before and WOW was it amazing!! The traditional music that filled the reception ballroom gave me goosebumps, along with the energy and happiness that was radiating throughout the room from everyone in attendance. The bride and groom then welcomed guests onto the stage for group photos and proceeded to cut their wedding cake. It was a very special night for the Shine and Oguz to be able to incorporate their cultures traditions into their reception, and I loved photographing every special moment of it!
CONGRATS to Mr. & Mrs. Suvay!! I am so so happy for the two of you and wish you the best of luck on your move overseas!
