Happy Thursday! Almost through the week and I am soooo looking forward to spending this weekend outside and celebrating Mothers Day with my momma who is in town! :) If you've been following me for awhile, you may recognize these two cute faces below, MJ and Mac! I love getting to photograph these sisters and see how much they grow and change each year.
Happy Monday, friends! I am thrilled to share these photos of my beautiful cousin Carrie, her son Isaac, and hubby Gary! I had a weekend full of spring mini sessions and also kicked off wedding weekend on Sunday. Lots of posts to come and I can't wait to blog more about all of these great sessions. If you haven't been to German Village lately I highly recommend going because the trees are flowers are in full bloom and look INCREDIBLE!
Spring time has finally arrived and the weather has been gorgeous! I kicked off last weekend with family mini sessions, first up the Rogers family! Sara and Brian are actually our next door neighbors (we moved into our house in September and they were the first people we met, too!). Their cute kiddos, Trey & Emmy, are so sweet and I love their sibling bond. The blooms at Goodale Park are always beautiful this time of year, so that's where we decided to do this family mini session.
Happy Sunday, friends! It's been awhile since I've had the chance to blog. I've been thoroughly enjoying my "off season" even though I have stayed plenty busy with side projects, travel, and my BABY on the way!! I still need to get around to officially blogging that exciting news, but in case you didn't know Sean and I are expecting a baby boy due early August and we are so thrilled! But back to this beautiful session though- I had the honor of photographing Jeanetta and her fiance Steve a few weekends ago here in Columbus. This is one of the sweetest couples and they compliment each other perfectly. We shared lots of laughs as we made our way around the Bicentennial Park area to capture their love!
First blog post of 2018, woot woot! I hope everyones New Years Resolutions are going well so far ;) I know mine is- which has been to take more time to myself instead of being such a work-a-holic 24/7! BUT I am fortunate enough to love what I do and my work gives me great joy, such as shooting weddings. I am so excited to share some of my favorite moments from Kimberly and Jon's gorgeous winter wedding I shot on December 1st! My husband Sean and I loved being able to capture their wedding and celebrate this exciting day for Kimmie and Jon. It was a day full of beautiful details, a lovely couple, awesome vendors, and LOTS of dancing the night away!
Finally getting around to blogging this adorable family session with the Feheley's at Jeffrey Mansion! The holidays always seem to overwhelm everybody, and while I absolutely love spending time with family, it's time to get back to work and tie up some loose ends before the new year! How is it already almost 2018?! It has surely been an amazing year photographing beautiful clients (who become wonderful friends) and being able to capture all of life's precious moments for everyone! The Feheley family was so energetic and fun to photograph on this December day, and I loved meeting their three spunky, cute daughters.
I had the pleasure of photographing Stephanie and Kenny's engagement session last weekend in downtown Columbus, and boyyyy was it beautiful! Shockingly, we didn't freeze our bums off thanks to the sun sticking around ;). I've known Steph ever since college and couldn't be happier that we have kept in touch through all of these years. She is also the fashionista behind The Bohemian Crown, a lifestyle and fashion blog (I highly recommend following her on instagram- @bohemiancrown).
It's one of my favorite weeks of the year, the week of Thanksgiving, and today (as well as every other day) I am so thankful for having the best clients around! The holidays get me so excited!! I can't wait for my off-season to begin in just a few short weeks; time to soak in all the quality time with family and friends. I love being able to offer Holiday Mini Sessions too, which make for great cards to send out during Christmas and New Years! Barbara and Trent were troopers this past Sunday morning since it was so cold for their mini session, but I just love how cozy and cheerful these photos turned out.
Last weekend I spent the morning strolling through Cincinnati taking Kelly and Troy's engagement photos, and boy was it a beautiful session! One of my favorite parts about my job is being able to capture these special moments for friends, there is nothing better than seeing them so in love and happy! I can't wait for Kelly and Troys wedding next summer at Rhinegeist, it's going to be incredible. If you haven't been to Cinci before I highly recommend making a trip down! Not only are there some fantastic spots for brunch and a great night scene, but the parks and historic cobblestone streets are fab. Kelly and Troy wanted an urban vibe for their session, and the area around Washington Park provided just that.
Another gorgeous fall engagement session with two amazing people, Nicole and Nate! And a guest appearance from their sweet little pup, Tucker, who LOVED the camera. I met this sweet couple a few months ago and we instantly clicked- I am so excited to photograph their wedding next September! Nicole and Nate compliment each other so well and we all had such a great time at their engagement session roaming around German Village. The fact that flowers were still in bloom at the end of October and the temps were in the high 60s made it a super enjoyable evening to stroll around.
Happy Friday! I've been waiting to share this blog post until the news was out and now that an announcement has been made I'm so thrilled to share this sweet family session! The Montgomery's will be adding a baby to their family next spring! I loved being able to document this exciting time for Matt, Quinn, and big brother Whit. Quinn is GLOWING and absolutely stunning with the cutest little bump. Whit looooved the camera and was such a fun kiddo to photograph!
This month has been crazy busy with fall portrait sessions but I love meeting all the new families along the way! The Lawson family was so much fun to photograph last weekend! We had the perfect fall morning (honestly it felt more like summer, and we were all okay with that!) for a mini session. The kids loved running around the park playing together. They were so adorable and fun to photograph! Franklin Park Conservatory is one of my favorite spots for family shoots since it offers such a fun variety of backdrops. Especially this time of year, everything is so colorful!
The best way for me to break up my week is to blog, and I am super excited to share another gorgeous fall engagement session with you all today! I had so much fun meeting Maddie and Ryan, and their sweet pup Spence *who loved the camera and would do anything to pose for treats*! One of my favorite things about this session was their outfits...lets talk about SPOT ON and perfect for this location! The blues and greens complimented everything so beautifully.
Heather and Daniel drove from Chicago for their lovely, elegant fall engagement session and I am so excited to be sharing some of my favorites today! I've known Heather since middle school and am so happy we have kept in touch. These two were naturals in front of the camera, and only about ten minutes after meeting Daniel I felt like I had known him for awhile, too! I LOVE seeing my friends in LOVE! <3
Happy Monday, friends! Hopefully everyone had a nice long weekend and got to enjoy this beautiful fall weather (minus some rain...yuck). One of my favorite parts about this business is photographing repeat clients and friends. I've been lucky enough to photograph these two gorgeous gals for the past few years and documenting Isabelle grow has been so much fun! It's the cutest thing watching her just go right into a pose, this girl is not camera shy and I LOVE it!! She kept Emily and I entertained the entire time!
My last summer wedding is finally hitting the blog, and boy is it a good one! I had been looking forward to this special day for awhile since the bride and I have been good friends since high school! Jenna and Kerry had the perfect August wedding with blue skies, sunshine, and the perfect breeze. From the beginning of the day getting ready, to the first look, group portraits, a beautiful ceremony, and a wild fun reception (the dance floor was POPPIN'), everything went off without a hitch and was perfect for the newlyweds!
Meet Kaylee, class of 2018 at Thomas Worthington High School! We had so much fun this past weekend strolling around Columbus taking her senior photos. The weather could not have been more perfect...80's and sunshine in September, we'll take it! I loved photographing Kaylee- she is such a sweet, energetic, and gorgeous gal full of laughter and smiles.
So excited to share photos from another super sweet engagement session of one of my 2018 wedding couples! Laura and Brad were such a blast to photograph, making my job superrrrr easy since they're already so photogenic and extremely well-dressed (I LOVED their outfits). What we thought was going to be a "Fall" engagement session turned out to be more summery since the weather is so indecisive lately, but it turned out just lovely. Laura and I have known each other for over 10 years, which seems like it has flown by! I remember starting my first job at the Highland Lakes Country Club pool grill and Laura was one of the first friends I made. It's so great that even through all of these years and going to different schools we kept in touch!
It's been a crazy busy month for my husband and I but we are so excited about everything that is happening!! Sean and I bought our first home and moved in during labor day weekend (more blog posts, pictures and updates to come)!! Less than one week after moving in, we left for Ireland to celebrate our first anniversary, which was one of the best trips ever. It's crazy to reflect on everything we've done and gone through together as husband and wife in our first year of marriage. Back in the spring, when thinking about what we could do for our anniversary, we decided that adventuring around Ireland would be incredible since Sean is Irish and since we did a very relaxing, tropical honeymoon. We wanted something a little faster paced and more scenic. Anywhere we travel to together is always such a blast, but this was a truly remarkable vacation. We've never seen landscapes like this anywhere in our lives, and personally I've traveled all over the world so that's saying a lot!
Happy Friday everyone! Another gorgeous summer wedding on the blog and I am so excited to share some of my favorites from Shine and Oguz's big day! Shine and Oguz got married earlier this month at the Noor Mosque and then had their Gold Ceremony and Reception at the Westin Hotel in downtown Columbus. It was absolutely breathtaking and the day could not have been more perfect for the newlyweds! I loved celebrating with their family and friends (some who even flew in from Australia!) and capturing all of their traditions. Shine and Oguz will actually be having another wedding celebration overseas with family and friends who couldn't make it, so the party continues all month long! :)
It was a pleasure capturing Carlyn and Adam's magical day, shooting alongside Erin from Seth & Beth Photo in June. We started off downtown at The Joseph with the girls getting ready and then head over to the lovely Darby House Venue. I always love shooting at the Darby House because it's the perfect amount of rustic but also so chic! The amount of love that surrounded this gorgeous couple on their wedding day was amazing, I've never seen so much emotion pouring out from friends and family!! It was absolutely perfect.
It has been such a busy summer already with weddings, travel, and other shoots, but I'm so excited for today's blog post featuring Lauren and Trey! This summer heat has been no joke, but it is definitely one of my favorite times of the year for engagement sessions. Lauren and Trey got engaged last year and I was honored when they reached out to meet for their 2018 wedding. I actually met them a few years ago while photographing one of their family events and I love having repeat clients.
You may remember back in April when I was hosting a Styled Engagement Session Giveaway! I'm so excited to finally share some of my favorite images from that gorgeous session in May, along with a shout out to all of the incredible vendors who worked with me that day (listed below). Amara and Vincent are one of the sweetest (and most fashionable) couple's I have ever photographed! I couldn't have been happier to have drawn their names when I did my first ever Styled Engagement Session Giveaway in April. From the moment we spoke on the phone and I shared my vision with them, I couldn't wait to get them in front of the lens!
A few weekends ago I had the pleasure of helping Clay, with Red Gallery Photography, shoot a gorgeous, rustic wedding at the Darby House. If you haven't been to this venue, it's a must see. Set on a huge amount of land, there were prime photo ops at nearly every turn! The day started off super rainy and windy, but luckily, about half an hour before Bryn and Leslie tied the know, the skies cleared and they were able to say, "I Do!" outside on the beautiful terrace.
I am SO excited to share photos from my first giveaway, ever!! If you follow along with me on Instagram (@leilakarazephoto) you probably saw that I was giving away a styled engagement session. Well, the giveaway was so popular and I had so many enteries, that I decided to also do a second engagement session giveaway!! I was blown away by the support from this and it meant so much to me that there were so many people who entered. Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet ALL of you in the future!
This past weekend has been so busy with engagement shoots, portrait sessions, and one wedding, but I couldn't be more happy about it! This adorable sister session with Mac and Madison at Inniswoods was so much fun! We ran around the park, played in the grass, and the girls even showed me their new gymnastics moves. I've had the pleasure of photographing these sweethearts for the last few years, and I love watching them develop into their own personalities and grow!
I am so excited it is finally starting to look and feel like spring outside! The gorgeous greenery is coming back, flowers are blooming, the warm weather and sunshine....I love it all! I had the pleasure of photographing my friend Jenny's family this weekend, along with her sweet pup Franklin! I've known Jenny for so long now and it is always so great to catch up with friends who I haven't seen in awhile. The Yan family was so photogenic and fun to work with. Franklin kept us laughing, and he was surprisingly super into modeling for the camera, too!
It's been a busy few weeks for me, but I am finally completely caught up on editing and delivering all of the sweet sessions I've been fortunate enough to shoot. This one is soooo special to me! Jenna and I have been friends for many years now and I was honored when she asked me to photograph her upcoming wedding in August! Kerry, her fiance, is such a great guy and I've enjoyed getting to know him over the last few times we've all met up.
Another lovely weekend of beautiful "winter" weather! This February is turning out to be not so shabby. Yesterday morning had the most beautiful light, which was perfect for the maternity session I shot for expecting parents, Kayla and Jeff! They will be welcoming their baby boy in early April. Kayla and Jeff have been friends of mine for awhile now, and I couldn't be happier for them during this special time in their lives. Kayla has always been a beauty and now has the cutest little bump!
As some of you may know, I recently organized and shot a Styled Bridal Shoot, that has been accepted to be exclusively featured on Artfully Wed on April 11th! I am so over the moon happy about this accomplishment, and extremely humbled by the entire experience. It was an absolute pleasure to work with so many incredibly talented local wedding vendors (listed below).
This gorgeous weather in February sure has me ready for spring! It couldn't have been more perfect this weekend for all of the photo shoots I had lined up! I was so happy to be able to photograph Brittany and David during this special time in their lives, welcoming their first baby boy in just a few short weeks! Brittany has always been one of the sweetest, happiest people to be around. Her smile and contagious laugh could light up a room! I could just tell by spending the morning with Brittany and David that they can't wait for the arrival of their little boy, and are so excited to be parents!
All the heart eyes on my gorgeous friend Kasey, glowing mommy-to-be, who is pregnant with her first baby! Mark and Kasey braved the cold (luckily we had some sunshine) last weekend and spent the morning with me for their maternity mini session at the Grange Audubon Center. I couldn't be happier for these two as they embrace their growing family and will be welcoming their baby girl in a few short weeks! I've had the pleasure of knowing Kasey for many years now, and she is a beautiful person on the inside and out.
First blog post of the new year, and boy is it a good one!! I have a new found love for destination weddings and I am SO excited to share some of my favorite moments from Rachel and Sean's special day with you! My husband and I had the honor of shooting this wedding together, traveling to Marco Island, Florida to spend the weekend with the happy couple and their families. The Marriott Beach Resort and Spa, the hotel/venue, was incredible! An added bonus with it being the holidays was all of the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel... I especially loved seeing the palm trees outside all lit up too!
The month of October was a busy one for most of us photographers. Sometimes it's hard to balance the day-to-day chores, work life, family time, and just taking time to breathe and relax. One thing is for sure though, keeping your creativity alive is essential, and for me this still involves my camera and making portraits. A good friend of mine, Jocelyn with Inphinite Photography, put together a beautiful styled engagement session with other Columbus vendors, and I was lucky enough to take part. Community over competition is so important to many of us local creatives, and networking is the best way to meet new florists, photographers, stylist, etc.
I think Ohio has officially decided to stay in "winter mode" now that the 60 degree weather is gone, so it was the perfect weekend for a woodsy holiday session! Leigha, Steve, and their sweet energetic pup Sydney joined me in the woods for some family portraits on Saturday morning. I loved photographing them, not only because they are friends of mine, but because this setting was everything and more! I love the semi-bare tall trees, the pine needles on the ground, the tree fort, the cool crisp air, and the privacy of the area. It may have been a bit cold in the morning, but so worth it. Leigha and Steve's happiness and laughter was contagious and made it so easy to photograph them! :)
What's better than a gorgeous fall day?....a gorgeous family! I love every chance I get to photograph the Marburger family! Nothing makes my heart happier than repeat clients and friends. Amie, Chase, Theo, and their pup Mr. Feeny spent a sunset session with me, and the lighting was perfecttttt! I am so thankful that this fall season has been warm and full of sunshine, allowing my late October sessions to still have colorful leaves on the trees!
Meeting new families to photograph is so much fun, especially when they are dressed perfectly coordinated for fall photos and have photogenic twin babies! The Wimmers were a pleasure to spend Saturday morning with and we had so much fun at the Everal Barn, despite the chilly weather. Athena and Blaze, nine month old twins, had the sweetest bond and I loved capturing all their cute little facial expressions!
It's the prettiest time of the year....FALL!! I want to spend everyday outside soaking up all of the colors! One of my close friends, Chelsea, is a stylist and we thought it would be fun to have a little shoot outside in one of the most gorgeous settings....the woods! The best part is, this is all just a step outside of our studio at work, so we took full advantage. It's one thing to look at this scenery everyday, but why not go out and explore around?
ayyyy! The time has come where I finally got to photograph one of my best friends since we were 1 year old, Jaime, and her fiance David! Their engagement shoot was so beautiful at the Jeffrey Mansion in Bexley. Jaime was one of my Maids of Honor in my wedding last month, and I can't wait to stand by her side on her special day next July! We have literally known each other almost our entire lives, and to go through some of life's most exciting moments together is super cool. Jaime and Dave are perfect for each other and I couldn't be happier for them!
Fall is my absolute favorite season! I LOVE going to the apple orchard (Lynd's Fruit Farm, specifically), loading up on different types of apples to bake with, and drinking way too much apple cider! :) This past Sunday morning, two of my best friends, Kelany & Kaitlin, and Kelany's son Brody, and I went to the orchard! Of course I had to bring my camera because whenever Brody is around, I just want to take a thousand pics of his sweet little face! You'll see....he's just the cutest! After the apple orchard we drove to the other side of the farm and went to the pumpkin patch.
Friday evening at Milestone 229, Brian & Abby shared one of the most special moments of their lives in front of close friends, as they got engaged! When Brian contacted me and explained his plan of how he was going to propose, I could hardly wait for the day to get here! He had told Abby they were going to a fancy dinner with friends to celebrate one of their friends' new job. Abby truly never suspected a thing!
Two weekends ago I had a double-header wedding weekend, and while it's a ton of work, I love spending time with so many happy brides and grooms! Friday I shot a wedding at Dock580 (blog post here), and Saturday I spent the day with Morgan and Ryan! They got married at a rustic church in Powell and their reception took place at The Vault. This was my third time photographing these two love birds together, and each time it gets better and better! Obviously their wedding day was my favorite, but I also loved photographing Ryan proposing to Morgan last year, and their fall engagement session.
One weekend ago, Jennifer and Brian said their vows in front of their closest friends and family, and became husband and wife. I had the honor of being a part of their special day, and it was nothing short of amazing. Jennifer and I have known each other since we were in 3rd grade...that's a long time people! :) And to say that we have kept in touch throughout our teenage years and now adult years, makes me so so happy. She's one of the most genuine girls I know, and Brian completes her perfectly with his charming personality.
ou may have noticed that it's been a bit quiet on the blog lately....I promise I have a good excuse for that! Since Sean and I's wedding is in two months, we have been swamped. I made a promise to myself at the end of last year that I would spend time to relax in the months leading up to our big day, so that I can fully enjoy the planning process and not stress myself out with booking too many sessions. It has been so hard not to book more than five weddings before my own, as I am always so happy and excited to make new friends/clients.
The Kondru family was so much fun to photograph! I can't give Jami and Anokh enough credit for raising such well mannered, sweet girls! Their youngest son, Caiden, is three months old and was so calm the entire time too which was great! We got lucky with the weather this day, as May was a pretty rainy month and we had to reschedule their session to June. But it turned out lovely and the park wasn't busy this early in the morning.
Hey y'all! To kick off June, I am so excited to share some memorable moments from one of my favorite weddings to date!! Megan and Drew were the cutest newlyweds and I loved being part of their special day in Cincinnati! I have known Drew since high school and met Megan last year. These two are seriously so much fun....especially when they are together. From getting ready, to the ceremony, to the limo ride to our portrait destinations, and lastly the reception...everyone had a blast and DANCED A TON!! I have never seen a couple do such a fun choreographed dance as they did for their first dance during the reception!
Happy Thursday friends! One day closer to the weekend and I couldn't be happier about that! Last weekend was crazy busy but so much fun! I shot a beautiful wedding in Cincinnati and then drove back Sunday for a family session with the Koesters! This great looking group of people were such a pleasure to photograph!
I am so excited to share some of my favorite photos from the first wedding I had the pleasure of photographing this season! It was just absolutely lovely! Julia and Peter were such a joy to photograph and spend their special day with. The love these two have for one another radiates between them, which made my job extremely easy capturing their raw emotions, especially while watching Julia walk down the aisle of the church. Everyone who attended their wedding was also so much fun! Granville is such a cute town and offered an amazing venue for their wedding day! The stone walls inside and outside of the Granville Inn added such a nice touch.
When my brother's girlfriend, Andrea, contacted me to take photos of her sister and their pup, I was so excited I could hardly wait! Andrea and Christina are two of the sweetest girls I have ever met. I am so happy that Andrea spends so much time with our family; it's been wonderful getting to know her over the past year or more. I had heard such great things about her parents and sister and was so happy to finally meet Christina! They brought along their pup, Oscar, and their sweet Mom too! Oscar was full of personality and definitely not shy in front of the camera...he was workin' his angles.
My fiance and I had such a fun weekend flying down to St. Petersburg, FL to visit friends and soak up some sunshine! Jamee and Kevin were the best hosts we could ask for, showing us all around St. Pete, Clearwater, Tampa, and all the gorgeous beaches. There was so much to do in those areas, we packed every day with as much as we could! When we got to their home, Jamee and Kevin told us their exciting news that they were moving back to Ohio at the end of the month, so they thought it would be fun to take photos for an announcement!
It's crazy how fast one year can fly by...I feel like it was just yesterday that I was taking sweet little Theodore's newborn photos. I couldn't be happier for my friends Amie & Chase, experiencing parenthood and doing a darn great job at it! Theo is so full of personality, walking all over the place, and starting to mumble the cutest little words (but really, his voice is adorable)! I was so excited for this lifestyle family session, in the comfort of their home, celebrating life with their little man.
I can't believe 2015 is almost over! This has been such a phenomenal year, not only for my business and all of the wonderful new clients/friends I have met, but for personal growth as well. And what better way to end the year than with a romantic engagement session for one of my newly-engaged friends?! DJ and I have been friends since high school and I am so happy that he will be tying the knot with the love of his life in less than six months! Nicole is one of the sweetest girls I have had the pleasure to meet, and you can tell how much they truly care about each other by just spending a few minutes with them.
Wedding season may be done, but as you may have guessed I stay pretty busy on the weekends-- away from my Photographer job at the A&F Homeoffice-- and have many of other shoots on the side. Lately, ever since being accepted into the Photography: Mastered program, led by world renowned fashion photographer Nick Knight, I have had plenty of editorial shoots to keep me buzzing with creativity! Collaborating along side one of the best hair and makeup artists (and a great friend of mine) Sharon Casey, we have created some pretty neat work together allowing our visions inspired by mood boards to come to life.
You may remember a few months ago when I photographed/blogged a sweet proposal at Antrim park...well, here are Morgan and Ryan again, but now for their real engagement session! ;) Their dog, Lucy, even made an appearance for a few photos and I was so impressed at how well-behaved she was in front of the camera! It was so fun to photograph these two again and get to know them even better.
Well friends, my 2015 wedding season is officially over and it ended on a high note with a super fun wedding reception at Station 67! Kylee and Cameron are friends of mine from high school who have been together for quite some time now, and it was so exciting to photograph them as husband and wife! They got married in Florida the week before, and then had their Reception in Columbus. The video footage I saw from their sunny ceremony down south was absolutely amazing.
Meet Bita and Ahmed, two insanely in love people who were so much fun to capture last weekend at their engagement session! We went to Sharon Woods Park which is beautiful this time of year. Spending the morning with Bita and Ahmed and getting to know them was so much fun. They are so happy, energetic, and stylish! Not to mention they were both complete naturals in front of the camera and I feel like their happiness and love truly shines through in these photos.
This week has been jam-packed for me, but I love to stay busy. Monday in particular was a fabulous day! I gathered with 9 other insanely talented and creative lady photographers for a fall styled shoot, "Snap and Gather". All of us brought different props, foods, florals, etc. to make this shoot come to life, and if I do say so myself, it was breathtaking! It was so wonderful to meet all of these ladies, talk about life, our passions, our dreams, highs and lows with our businesses, and of course eat and drink some delicious foods/cider/wine! Being part of such a supportive, encouraging community and supporting Community over Competition-- which has become huge in Columbus-- warms my heart.
Last Sunday I drove to Cincinnati in the morning to photograph the love between one of my best friends and her fiance! Christina and I met our freshman year of college and instantly clicked. We're similar--and goofy-- in so many ways, which explains how our friendship has grown and we've stayed close over the years. It has brought me so much joy seeing how truly happy she is with her fiance Chris (who is one of the sweetest men out there). These two were complete naturals in front of the camera making my job so easy!
Two blog posts in one day?! I love it! ;) It has been such a busy month and I am looking forward to all of the rest of the sessions I have left this fall. It was so nice meeting the Fowler family this past weekend! They were full of smiles and laughter, and the kids especially kept us on our toes! I just love photographing such fun, creative little kiddos who are not camera shy at all too. I am also starting to seriously love shooting at Rocky Forks Metro Park in Westerville, it is gorgeous there especially at golden hour (a photographers favorite time to shoot)!
I am soooo excited to introduce you to another one of my fabulous 2016 wedding couples, Julia and Pete! These two have been so fun to get to know in the last few weeks and are such naturals in front of the camera. This was one of my favorite engagement sessions, not only because of the perfect fall weather, morning light, and of course this lovely couple, but the location was just beautiful. Canal Winchester may have been a bit far from us, but it was certainly worth the drive! The park we found had everything Julia and Pete wanted; a covered bridge, open fields, and a barn!
This past weekend was the first where it truly looked and felt like fall to me! The colors on Sunday morning were so beautiful and I couldn't have been more pleased with the weather for my cousin's family photos! It's crazy how fast this time of year flies by and how quickly the leaves change, on top of it being one of my busiest seasons. I sure do love it though. My cousin, Jeanette, and her beautiful family looked amazing on Sunday.
Now, let me just swoon for a minute over how perfect this wedding was that I had the opportunity to second shoot with a friend last weekend. Libby and Eric were one of the cutest couples I have ever photographed, and were so fun to spend the day with! The entire wedding party was a blast too which always makes everything even more fun. I can't begin to describe how beautiful the entire ceremony and reception space was on Libby's parent's property. From the bridesmaids dresses and flowers, to the centerpieces, to the ceremony programs, every little detail had so much beauty to it!
As summer comes to an end, I am trying to capture as much beautiful morning light as mother nature will let me. It was the perfect morning this past weekend as I had the privilege to photograph Kelli and her husband Tony as they are a few weeks away from meeting the newest member of their family, a baby girl! I've known Kelli for over a year now; she is a beautiful person on the inside and out.
Ohhhh what an amazing evening I had this Wednesday, capturing the sweetest proposal at Antrim Park!! Everything about it was absolutely perfect...the couple, the setting, the weather! I mean I seriously got emotional and teared up behind the lens while photographing Ryan proposing to the love of his life and now soon-to-be beautiful wife, Morgan.
I absolutely love when friends from out of town come back to Columbus to visit and book a session while they are here!! That was the case for my friend Chelsea, her husband Matthew, and their PRECIOUS daughter Aubrey! I was so excited when Chelsea had mentioned she wanted a family session, obviously because it was going to be fun to see her after so long, but especially since I was sooo excited to meet her adorable 9-month old baby girl! The morning didn't start off how we expected though, as the location we had chosen was shut down due to a marathon...but luckily there was another great park to shoot at not too far away in Hilliard.
Happy Monday, friends! I am SO excited to share some of my favorite photos from a beautiful country club wedding in Newark! I have photographed Hannah and Steve multiple times before their wedding day, and each session I end up having new favorite shots of them because they are just fabulous in front of the camera!! Hannah made a stunning bride, of course, and Steve and his groomsmen looked great! I loved the fact that they didn't do a first look and both were so excited and surprised when they saw each other at the alter.
n my opinion, no summer is complete without a fabulous vacation! The trip my mom and I just recently took together was one for the books. We wanted to go somewhere we've both never been before with beautiful sights and fun things to do. So we decided to take a road trip to Cape Cod and along the way stayed in the Poconos for a day! When we arrived at the Inn at Pocono Manor (which is a pretty amazing place to stay by the way), we decided to take a hike on one of their popular trails which was full of greenery, beautiful creeks, lots of rocks, and some wildlife. The next day we spent a lot of time by the pool relaxing and soaking in the warm weather and sunshine.
Two weekends ago April and Anthony got married at Northpointe in Lewis Center, OH, and I absolutely LOVED being part of their special day! Despite the pouring rain that moved the ceremony inside, and only gave us about a twenty minute break for outdoor photos, this wedding was so dreamy!! April and Anthony were not even phased by the rain and ran out while it began sprinkling to let me take some photos. They were such troopers! Plus, rain on your wedding day is supposed to be good luck, right?!
One week ago today, the most amazing man I could ever ask to be my partner for life asked me to Marry him! Thats right, Sean and I are ENGAGED! I have what feels like a million exciting emotions that I could spill out into this blog, but that would probably be too much to read ;). So, I will keep it as short and sweet as I can. For those who don't know our story, Sean and I have been together for almost four years....August 20th will mark that date. We met while I was going into my senior year of college at Ohio State and he had already graduated. From there, the rest is history!
I feel blessed to have so many amazing supporters of my photography and keep fueling my passion to do what I love! It's a great feeling when good friends who are also photographers ask me to take photos of their family. Sherine, her boyfriend Marc, and his two daughters Kylie and Dylan, were an absolute blast to photograph over the weekend! Sherine and I met in college in a photo class and ever since remained great friends!
German Village is one of my favorite spots in Columbus to shoot at. There's something about this park that offers such romantic and beautiful scenery. After capturing some lovely shots there, we made our way down to North Bank Park. If you have a love for the city of Columbus, it is a must to get photos done there! The background is simply perfect, showing off all of the buildings in the city and sits right on the Scioto River. I had such a hard time choosing some of my favorite photos to share in this post because I love them all so much! Happiness and excitement radiate between Megan and Drew, which made my job much easier!
One week ago my boyfriend and I treated ourselves to a MUCH needed vacation. Daytona Beach is one of my favorite places to vacation and visit, not only because its beautiful, but my parents live there! That's right...they live down south and I chose to stay up north (whats my problem, right?!? lol). Anyways, it was such an amazing trip. One of the most memorable things we did was visited Silver Glen Springs in the Ocala Nationa Forest. We got to swim in the natural spring, snorkel, and even saw a black moccasin snake...which was FREAKY. The landscape was just stunning though.
Another beautiful, snowy, winter maternity session! I just can't get enough of all these glowing mommas! Andi and Blair drove to Columbus the day prior to our session, right before we got hit with a big snow storm. The irony of this? They actually met each other during a blizzard and are now happily married and expecting their first baby! It was such a pleasure meeting them and photographing this special time in their lives (despite the frigid temperature).
Meet my friend Kelany; beautiful, fun, photogenic, and soon-to-be mommy! Things are definitely about to change in her world, and she is so excited to meet her baby boy in just a few short weeks! She is going to make such an amazing mother and I can't wait to finally meet her little boy. I feel like it was just yesterday when she told me she was pregnant and the time has definitely flown by. At first, Kel didn't think she would want maternity photos. But I know her better than that ;). This session was part of my gift to her at her baby shower! At the end of our shoot, Kelany told me she was so happy we actually ended up taking these photos.
I am so excited for you all to see some of my favorite photos from a beautiful maternity session last weekend with Chase and Amie! They just recently got married in the sunny state of Florida, and are expecting their first child in less than a month. Amie is one of the cutest pregnant women I have ever seen!! I cannot wait to meet and photograph their son.
I absolutely LOVE maternity sessions. There is nothing better than capturing sweet moments of a glowing Mommy-to-be! I had such an amazing time photographing Katherine, watching her admire her growing baby belly, and talking about sweet little James (who will be making an appearance next month)! The snow added such a lovely touch to the outdoor photos, and although it was cold, it was totally worth the turnout. Katherine is such a beautiful, strong woman with a very big, sweet heart...and she is going to be an amazing mother.
Family is the most important thing in our lives, and it always brings a smile to my face to photograph such sweet, loving families! The Shingledecker's were so much fun to work with and made it so easy for me to capture their personalities in each and every photo. Here are a few of my favorites from this mini session, I hope you all enjoy them as much as I do!
I love having any excuse to go back to the University that I called home for four years, not only because I miss it like crazy, but campus is just absolutely beautiful (especially in the fall)! I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing Brittany and Ryan's engagement session at The Ohio State University campus a few weekends ago, luckily before the leaves were completely gone and the snow started to fall. They drove to Columbus from their home in Akron and we started the morning off at Mirror Lake. I had not known Brittany or Ryan prior to this engagement shoot, but we had such an absolute blast together that it felt as if I was hanging out with old friends!
If there is one thing we all know to be true, it's that there is nothing quite like a mothers love. Carlie and her adorable daughter, Camryn, were so much fun to photograph. I had just met them the week prior at a friend's wedding, and after talking for awhile it turned out that they were in need of new family photos! It was perfect timing to get this session in right before fall ended....since we all know the leaves are mostly gone now and the cold weather has made its return.
Fall is practically over, but you wouldn't even be able to tell after looking at all of the rich colorful leaves in these photos. Now, where to start with these two adorable love birds.... I'll tell you what, love just radiates between them. They were so excited, happy, photogenic, and an absolute blast to photograph. And why wouldn't they be?!? This is an exciting time in their lives celebrating their engagement as they prepare for a very important day...THE WEDDING!
Meet Chelsea and Tommy, a couple that makes me smile every single time I am around them! Chelsea and I met in high school and ever since then have been friends! Shortly after I met Chelsea, she started dating Tommy and I have known him for what seems like just as long. We thought it would be fun to do their engagement session at Chelsea's fathers property in Sunbury, which was full of beautiful trees, a large pond, a cute shed, and a bridge. It was exactly what they were looking for.
This is the second time I have had the pleasure of photographing the Jahn family, except this time it was a bit warmer out and wasn't snowing! Last winter we took photos at the Everal Barn, and this year for a beautiful fall setting we went to the Columbus Park of Roses. Even the dogs got to join in on the fun this time!
his was probably one of the most fun engagement sessions I have done to date, not only because I had a very excited and photogenic couple, but because they spiced things up with a "Rockabilly" theme at the end! Lindsay and Mark are getting married next June and I absolutely cannot wait to photograph their special day! We had gorgeous fall weather for their engagement shoot. I am happy to share some photos from their session this past weekend.
Half way through the week, which is the perfect time to take a break and check out some absolutely adorable photos! Josh and Krystin's son Nolan is turning ONE-- and what better time to get family portraits taken?! He was probably the most energetic, happy, giggly baby I have ever photographed! Not to mention, his parents are naturals in front of the camera too. This family has a very special spot in my heart, and I was so excited when they scheduled a session with me. Fall has once again proved to be a very popular time of year for family photos
Working with the Antritt family is always such a pleasure! Not only are they extremely fun to be around, but they definitely make my job easier by being so photogenic! This time of year makes for the most colorful and stunning photos...fall is my absolute favorite.
Weddings are simply beautiful, each in their own way. And the thing I love MOST about weddings, is how different and unique each one is. I am so happy to have met Hillary & Derek, who got married last Friday at the court house and had their wedding reception dinner on Saturday at Lindey's in German Village. They are also expecting their first baby on Thanksgiving day! How exciting is that?! I loved the atmosphere at Lindey's. Gorgeous colored walls, an amazing event staff, lovely food, and a happy family to celebrate the new union between Hillary & Derek!
If you are ever looking for a new vacation destination, St. Thomas is the place to go! My family and I took an amazing trip down to the islands and it was absolutely breathtaking! We stayed on St. Thomas, but also took a day trip to snorkel and see some other beaches at St. John. The weather was hot, humid, sunny, and every day was a beach day! While we were there we did a green sea turtle encounter, and got to play with these beautiful 180-250 pound creatures. It was an experience I will never forget. Little did we know we would end up seeing sea turtles and even stingrays regularly while snorkeling at all of the different coves and bays.
Hannah and Steve were such a pleasure to photograph! They invited me out to their property in Granville to do the shoot, and once you look at these photos, you'll understand why. It was simply perfect, full of so much open land and lush foliage. These two were so comfortable in front of the camera, it made my job so easy! Not to mention, capturing special moments like this for two people so in love is why I LOVE engagement sessions so much. I am very excited to share with you some of my favorite photos from this countryside shoot.
Family is the most important thing in my life, and I have been blessed with some pretty fantastic relatives! This weekend I had the pleasure of capturing my cousin Tony, his beautiful wife Kesha, and their adorable daughter Scarlett, for some family portraits. I woke up thinking "this is the perfect day for a shoot, the sun is out but not too harsh." We soon realized after being outside for about 10 minutes that the humidity was not on our side at all.... it was HOT!
